What’s your Life Path number?
Your core numbers from your birth date and name, with every step of the maths shown, so you can check it yourself.
Quick answer
Your Life Path number comes from your full date of birth. Reduce the month, the day and the year to single digits (keeping 11, 22 and 33, the master numbers), add them, and reduce the total. For 14 July 1990: 7, then 1 + 4 = 5, then 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19 → 10 → 1; 7 + 5 + 1 = 13 → 4. Life Path 4. Your name adds three more numbers, using the Pythagorean letter values (A = 1 … I = 9, then J = 1 again).

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my Life Path number?
Reduce your birth month, day and year to single digits separately, keeping 11, 22 and 33 as they are. Add the three results and reduce again. This "reduce each part first" method is the most widely used, because adding every digit at once can hide a master number. The calculator shows each step for your date.
What are master numbers?
11, 22 and 33. They are not reduced to 2, 4 and 6 because they are read as a stronger, more demanding version of those numbers: 11 the intuitive, 22 the master builder, 33 the master teacher.
Which name should I use?
Traditionally, the full name on your birth certificate, including middle names. Some people also look at the name they use now, which reads as the energy they have grown into. Accents are ignored, and Y counts as a vowel only when no other vowel sits next to it (as in Lynn or Mary).
What is a Personal Year?
Numerology’s nine-year cycle. Add your birth month, your birth day and the current year, and reduce. A 1 year begins a new cycle, a 9 year completes it. It changes every 1 January, and the Personal Month and Personal Day are built on it.
Is numerology the same as astrology?
No. They are separate systems that people often use together: astrology reads the positions of the planets when you were born, numerology reads the numbers in your birth date and name. Aurae calculates both and shows you how each was worked out.
Is this free?
Yes. The calculator is free and needs no account, and nothing you enter is saved. A free Aurae account adds your Personal Day to your dashboard every morning.
